4 Months Old

My baby boy is no longer an infant. We have reached some milestones this month for sure! Will is now rolling over...well sort of. He did it for the first time while laying in bed with me one morning and again while having tummy time with his daddy. He is also doing so well with tummy time and can hold his head up for much longer periods of time. He can look at himself in the mirror on his belly! He is also grabbing and holding his toys and starting to put them in his mouth to bite and suck on them. (We MAY have a tooth coming in...stay tuned!) He has been sleeping about 9 hours or so at night and doesn't get up at all in those 9 hours. (That is the best thing for me!) He is also starting to get comfortable in his crib. While he is not sleeping in there at night, we do try and put him down for naps and he also plays in his crib throughout the day. He talks even more and makes all kinds of new baby talk noises. He also has been laughing more at little things that we do, although he never laughs at the same thing twice. He is also starting to grab at his feet and hold on to them. He is wearing 9 month clothes and is now in size 3 diapers. He weighs 17lbs 1oz and is just under 27 inches long, 90th percentile all the way!

I went back to work on January 3rd and of course it was the worst day for me. I had spent the whole week leading up to my return dreading it. I cried at least once everyday leading up to it and on the morning I dropped him off at his daycare I lost it completely. I just miss him every single second I am not with him. He has been doing very well at the sitters house. He doesn't cry when I leave him or at all while he is there. Then again he never really cries unless he needs something. He loves the sitter's house and she is just great with him. He goes there Tuesday thru Thursday and Chris or I am home with him on Fridays and Mondays. I am usually the one who picks him up and drops him off so of course the best part of my day is seeing that smiling face every day at pick up time.

The down side of his four month update is that he has his first little cold. It just broke my heart to see him so sad and upset due to his awful stuffy nose. He has had the worst congestion and nothing else. He has had no fever or cough or anything except this horrible stuffy nose. My poor little guy! I just cried the first night he woke up with it. It was heartbreaking to hear him trying to breathe and knowing there wasn't anything I could do to take it away. We spent lots of time in the bathroom with lots of steam showers as well as getting to know and use a NoseFrida (which is the best thing ever). He is doing much better now but a cold hangs around for days, hopefully he will be better soon!
