It's a BOY!!!!!

Chris and I had our ultrasound today and found out little baby K is a baby BOY!! Chris was just so excited, he was like a little kid at Christmas. I always get a little emotional whenever we hear the heart beat or have an ultrasound, but today I was doing pretty good...until the tech said boy. I just started crying I was so happy! Now I will be out numbered at our house for sure!! But I am totally ok with that, us Petri's could always use another PACKERS fan! The baby is healthy and growing fast. I am actually measuring in at 20 weeks in stead of 19. So that would make me half way through this pregnancy. The baby has been  moving around like crazy the past few days and I started to feel light kicks. The same could be said during our ultrasound! Baby K was moving around so much it was hard for the tech to get some of the shots and measurements. I actually have to go back on Tuesday for another ultrasound to take measurements of his spine and heart. He was covering his heart with his hand...it was early in the morning so he was probably saying the pledge of allegiance. Smart baby! I have gained a total of 11 lbs so far with this pregnancy, and that makes me feel like I'm heading in the right direction of trying to be healthy while carrying baby K.

We have decided to name baby K William Jacob Kelsch. William is after my grandfather Bill and  Chris' dad Bill. Here are a few shots from the ultrasound.

18 weeks

I have had a couple of exciting moments since my last blog post. I finally felt baby K moving! I was out to dinner with my husband Chris and while I was eating my Mexican food the baby went crazy! I had my hand on my stomach and I felt the baby move. I was so excited!! Since then I have felt it move a few more times but not as much as the first time. I think the baby was super excited about the Mexican food :) The not so exciting part has been that I have officially moved into maternity clothes...top to bottom. I went to get ready for work and my work pants were just too tight on my belly, so I had to wear yoga pants that day instead. I went to a few different stores to try and find something but no such luck. I ended up in a maternity store and bought about 8-10 pieces of clothing for work. I think I should be good for a little while.

Baby K's nursery is coming along nicely. I have ordered and received the crib already. All we have left to do is put it all together! Cravings have been cherry lime-aid's from Sonic and anything lemon. Weird I know. My next OB appointment is next week. I finally get to see my little peanut again. I am so excited to see how big the baby has grown and even more excited to see what we are having!

16 weeks

I made it to four months! Chris and I were able to hear the heart beat today...strong and healthy! Baby K is doing great so far and is healthy. I have gained a total of 10 lbs which the doctor said is just great, even though I feel like I'm getting too big, and also said that I shouldn't gain much more than another 10-15 lbs throughout the pregnancy. That sounds like an awful lot, but I am all baby and not much more than that! I am finally starting to feel really good again, I think I even have more energy now than I did before. Weird! I also starting getting the nursery together. So far we have purchased a vintage yellow and white chair and a vintage dresser/changing table. The dresser will be repainted white. I have also ordered the baby's bedding and have purchased a  few decor items as well. Our nursery is gender neutral and will be yellow, grey and white with patterns like chevron, stripes and polka-dots. My vision is coming along nicely! I have also recently gone back to the gym and have slowly started to exercise again with this new found energy. It felt good to get in there and do something even if it was just walking on a treadmill. I have no new cravings to report and everything else has been pretty normal. I am just starting to get a bit uncomfortable while sleeping and sitting as my baby belly is growing bigger every minute!

Our next doctor's appointment is the 26th, so 3 more weeks and we will find out....boy or girl? I am excited to see how big the baby is and of course to decide on which baby name we will use.
