Today I saw my little peanut

Today Chris and I had our first ultra sound. I have been waiting to see the baby since we found out and I was so excited all morning for the appointment. When we finally saw our little peanut I was just so happy and in love it was ridiculous! Then we heard the heart beat and I just had a moment. A few tears fell as I heard that strong beat and all I could think about was this baby and how much I loved it already. The due date is September 21st and everything is running smoothly and our little baby K is healthy. Our next ultra sound is in 10 more weeks and maybe then we will be able to see what we are having. Boy or Girl?

As far as cravings go, the baby loves meat, Mexican food, and Red Baron french bread pizzas. I don't know...sounds like a boy to me! I've finally had some of my energy return and haven't been as tired. Nausea is almost in the past but now I've entered the dizziness and blood sugar ups and downs. I'm excited to start exercising again now that I have a little more energy. Before I got pregnant I had lost about 17lbs and so far I have gained about 6lbs. YIKES!! I feel like a little chunk...even though its all in my little bump that's already popped out! We decided not to do the down syndrome test since we weren't at risk. I felt that it was more risky for the baby and in the end it really didn't matter since I wasn't planning on terminating the pregnancy if down syndrome was detected. My next appointment is March 7th.
