My husband Chris and I have been together for the last 7 years and have been married for almost 4 of those years. We just decided in June 2011 that we would be trying for a baby. At first we were just going through the motions and saying, "well if it happens it happens." December 2011 finally rolled around and we still weren't pregnant. So we decide to get a calendar and actually start counting the days and using fertility sticks to pin point our best days for conception. Christmas Eve I found out my brother-in-law and his wife were pregnant. That news pretty much ruined my holiday for so many reasons. Then I found out January 9th that my brother and his wife of 3 months were also pregnant. I wasn't as upset about them getting pregnant, cause I knew they had been wanting another baby. My sister-in-law Kassie was always saying how she wanted us both to be pregnant at the same time so we could go through it together, and raise our kids together since we are so close.
I had been feeling sick for a few weeks but didn't think anything of it. So I took a pregnancy test just to rule it out. It was positive. POSITIVE! I couldn't beleive it! The next morning I took another one just to make sure and it was also positive. So I made an appointment with my OB to confirm. On January 10th I found out I was just about 4 weeks pregnant and my estimated due date was towards the end of September. I cried. And as soon as I left my appointment I called my husband crying saying "We're gonna have a baby!" Best day of my life.
The funniest part was that we had ordered a fertility monitor to help with our conception and it arrived the day I found out I was pregnant. Not only am I completely thrilled to become a mom, but I am so lucky to be able to go through this with my also pregnant sister (in-law) Kassie.
